Very large portions of food. Fresh and very tasteful as well. Outstanding and quick service. Multiple servers attending to all tables throughout the restaurant. Outdoor seating is an option. Booth seating allows for a private conversation without yelling. For the price it's very good.

Came to Washington Heights for the Dominican culture and flare. Was not at all disappointed in the food, service, and promptness here. It's very busy here during lunch hour but things move quick and efficiently. The mofongo with chicharron is amazing- and the maduros are fried perfectly. I like that the meat is has enough fat and crunch to it that it's melting. Most people that visit New York probably won't go uptown, but this would be a great place for the Dominican food, if that's what you want.

Classic Dominican Food! Delicious for every bite. I really appreciate the choice of black and red beans; I prefer black beans. The roasted chicken is as close to perfection as I think it can get - moist and flavorful. I ordered to go. The counter service was great. It is a busy popular Washington Heights Dominican establishment that is worth it!

This place never disappoints! The food is absolutely delicious. The rotisserie chicken literally falls off the bone and is seasoned to perfection. The service is quick, the ambiance is good, the place isn't that big and it gets kinda loud but the food more than makes up for it.

I had a great experience at Malecon! ** disclaimer that I am not well-versed in dominican food, so these impressions are coming from someone who is not familiar with the cuisine as a whole ** Half Chicken w/ Maduras (4/5): Chicken was well seasoned, but a bit dry in parts. The green sauce they served with it was spicy and sour, wish there was more of it to make up for the dryness. The sweet plantains were perfect, loved the caramelization on the outside, portion size was massive for a "side." Mango Batido (5/5): Perfect sweet drink to soak up the saltiness of the chicken! Tres Leches (5/5): Soft, delicious, sweet, moist-- everything you want out of a good tres leches Interior was lively, a lot of birthdays going on when I went! Staff was so kind and accommodating for our larger party of 9 (although getting a larger table might be difficult on other nights, I went on a Monday and the restaurant was still looking pretty busy). Overall, would definitely go again and try the mofongos or any of their other dishes, they all looked phenomenal

The staff was pleasant. This restaurant has been around for a few decades. They have remodeled the place and it looks great. I used to live in the area 20 years ago and ordered food all the time. They are well known for their rotisserie chicken. One other thing they do great and I've had is Churasco meat. But in this ocasión I was craving a Pork Mofongo. I forgot the picture because I was so hungry. The Mofongo was excellent. They added the side sauce which was perfect. They only give you two small pieces of Pork Chicharon. I thought it was too little. The flavors were great. I tried the Quipe but I was disappointed as it wasn't as warm and it was extremely dry and locked a bit of flavor so we left it.
